Commitment

Commitment for football in South Africa

„Borussia connects generations, men and women, all nations“, says a famous Dortmund club anthem.

The Goldene Generation believes in the uniting power of football, its frankness and humanity as well as the identity-establishing effect it carries around the world. That’s why we we’re happy to support the association “Borussia Commondale e.V.” with regular donations.

Commondale is a small village in the South African province of Mpumalanga. Before the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, Rolf-Arnd Marewski – the founder and long-standing leader of the Dortmund “fan project” – traveled to the region and, after talking to the local welfare workers, initiated the social project “Borussia Commondale”.

With the aid of regular in-kind donations, improvements of infrastructure and interconnection of regional partnerships football enthusiastic kids are given a perspective and values such as team spirit and tolerance can be experienced.

That’s why we gladly subsidise “Borussia Commondale” – and hope for further support.
